PROJECT OBJECTIVE
Improved mobility
The Barcelona City Council through its infrastructure company BIMSA begins the construction of the road underpass in Plaza de Glories. This infrastructure will improve mobility in a place of transport centralization and high traffic. For this purpose, the construction of underpasses with a North-South orientation is being carried out, divided into 4 lots.
These underpasses will cross other critical infrastructure such as commuter train lines. This crossing creates a delicate situation in an infrastructure that is in use by thousands of users.

RESULTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Deformation analysis
A continuous deformation monitoring system was obtained to ensure the serviceability of the railway infrastructure during the construction of the road tunnel. The result is the evolution of the deformation of the slabs in 4 sections transverse to the track axis, with a measurement point every meter.
It is possible to configure the cadence in the acquisition of each line, from several per hour to several per day. It has proved to be a reliable system to minimize the risk of affecting other infrastructures during the construction of the tunnel.
