PROJECT OBJECTIVE
Response to the growing demand for water
As a consequence of its growing population and economic development, daily water demand in Oman has been growing by 2%-3% annually. Demand has increased markedly in central Muscat, and the Government of Oman has launched multiple IWPs to redirect the situation.
Ghubrah Independent Water Project is being the first large-scale IWP in the river stream, Oman Power & Water Procurement Co (OPWP) initiated a competitive bidding process in 2012. Shareholders were awarded the contract to build the plant and Muscat City Desalination Company (MCDC) was incorporated to undertake the project.

Validation and integration
Validation and integration of equipment successfully developed following all the customer's technical indications. In addition, FAT and installation validation tests are performed, as well as training in system operation and alarm settings. This implies the delivery of a 100% functional system to the customer.
