PROJECT OBJECTIVE
Increased throughput of machining processes
The INTEFIX project aims to increase the performance of machining processes in industry through the optimization of intelligent tooling systems, which enable the monitoring, control and adaptation of processes to obtain more accurate, cheaper and higher quality results, generating a more competitive industry.
These new tooling systems modify the behavior of the actuators, holders and clamps based on the data recorded by the different state-of-the-art sensors, and different control algorithms and simulation tools are applied to modify their behavior and interactions with the rest of the machining process.
INTEFIX is led by the innovation technology center Fundación Tekniker located in Eibar (Basque Country, Spain), in consortium with other companies such as Álava Ingenieros (Spain), MLabs Optronic (Spain), Mesurex (Spain) and 29 other companies and research centers from Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Greece, the Czech Republic and Turkey.
How we made it happen
Technology and added value to the product
The current demands of the business world mean that the traditional requirements of the machining process are insufficient, and make it necessary to include new functionalities that add value to the product.
Álava Ingenieros participates in this project as an expert in sensorics and telemetry, carrying out the selection and technical definition of the sensors (accelerometers, load cells, etc...) as well as the integration of these sensors in feedback systems.

RESULTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Accuracy and quality
These systems provide the industry with higher levels of precision and quality of the manufactured parts, thanks to the incorporation of capabilities for the detection of deformations, vibrations or distortions during the production process, thus reducing operation times and costs.
