PROJECT OBJECTIVE
Standard instrumentation for wind turbines
Siemens Gamesa is a Spanish multinational company of new technologies dedicated to wind energy. Siemens and Gamesa joined forces in April 2017 to become a leader in its sector, with more than 23,000 employees and over 90GW installed in more than 90 countries.
In 2019, the company Preditec was chosen as a supplier of serial instrumentation for Siemens Gamesa's wind turbines. After a commercial, technical and quality work, the characteristics of Preditec's products were developed and the company was approved as a supplier of these sensors. After this long approval process initiated with SE&A (South Europe & Africa), Preditec is now a worldwide supplier for all regions.
How we made it happen
Continuous monitoring
Approval
Approval is carried out in different stages: economic, documentary technical, field technical, product quality and supplier quality. The evaluation is continuous and does not end with the approval, but proactivity is expected from suppliers: proposal of improvements, new projects and new products.
The importance of data quality
High-precision equipment is required to meet the analysts' needs for quality data to be reported to the monitoring center. Robust instrumentation is also required for demanding and variable wind, humidity and temperature conditions.

RESULTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Improved life cycle
This instrumentation is able to monitor the condition of the wind turbines continuously, allowing better management of the life cycle and its extension over time, improved reliability in terms of machine availability, optimization of operation and maintenance, better planning of interventions, reduction of inventory, reduction of catastrophic failures and improvement of wind farm safety.
Wind farm operators demand solutions that allow them to manage assets remotely, based on different criteria, including predictive maintenance of wind turbines.
