PROJECT OBJECTIVE
Checking the condition of prototype parts
The main objective of our client, the Japanese car manufacturer Nissan, is to establish a series of technical standards for the acquisition, delivery and commissioning of an automatic measuring equipment to check the correct manufacturing status of some parts that were in prototype phase in one of its plants in the north of Spain, specifically in its plant in Los Corrales de Buelna, in Cantabria.
We collaborated with Nissan to provide this center with a world-class operating plant and to be a benchmark for other casting and machining factories in the rest of the world, with a system capable of automatically measuring the natural frequency of brake discs, in order to meet and exceed the customer's standards of excellence in the supply of these critical parts.
Date of execution:
2016
Location:
Cantabria, Spain.

How we made it happen
Study of the standard spectrum
Automatic natural frequency measurement and fault detection. A study of the standard spectrum is carried out at A study of the standard spectrum that serves as a model to discern the suitability of each of the parts and design a solution based on reconfiguration and adaptation to the specific needs of the customer.
The system consists of the automatic measurement of natural frequencies and the detection of faults in parts in the same production line where the part is discriminated by measuring acoustic signals and those that do not meet the selected parameters are ejected.

RESULTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Adaptation and technological innovation
The test system is perfectly configurable to adapt it to the new models of the brand, as it allows controlling and adjusting the compensations produced by other agents such as temperature variations and aging.
The solution adapted by Grupo Alava meets all the expectations and objectives that Nissan proposed; so much so that it is expected that in the coming years another much more complex and technological installation will be added in other production lines for the automatic detection of references or bypass of unanalyzed parts.
