Airbus has validated the new SDR-OMNI all-in-one flight line avionics tester for use in manufacturing operations worldwide.
Jeffrey O'Hara, President and CEO of Tel-Instrument, commented, "Airbus has spent the last year conducting an in-depth competitive analysis of our new flight line avionics tester, SDR-OMNI. We are delighted that they have selected the SDR-OMNI for use in their manufacturing operations around the world.
The SDR-OMNI will replace a number of obsolete test equipment currently in use. Airbus cited the ease of use and speed of the test equipment as important factors in its decision. This validates the significant investment TIC has made in this market-leading test equipment. The SDR-OMNI has also been approved by Boeing and we are in the process of adding it to their approved vendor list.
We are also introducing a GPS simulator application for this avionics tester that will be available in the summer."
Features of the SDR-OMNI avionics tester:
- Modes A, C, S (EHS and ELS) Transponder with FAA Self-Test Part 43
- ADS-B 1090 MHz and 978 MHz UAT (IN and OUT)
- VOR and ILS (with LOC + GS + MB combined)
- DME
- HF / VHF / UHF (AM and FM) communication radios - with "walkie-talkie" communication check mode
- SELCAL
- ELT (406 MHz with 121.5 MHz / 243 MHz)
- ACAS/TCAS I/II
- Aircraft audio systems (audio distortion)
- VSWR / Distance to fault (DTF) / Cable loss
- GPS Simulator (2nd quarter 2024)
This is the most advanced commercial equipment ever manufactured. The combination of hardware and software can test virtually any RF signal from 200 kHz to 1.6 GHz. As the lightest avionics tester on the market, the SDR-OMNI offers unmatched capability and ease of use.
