Grupo Álava and Telefónica Tech join forces to offer a predictive maintenance solution for the industrial sector.

"The union of 5G technology and predictive technology enables a giant step forward for the various industries in the digitization of their industrial processes. Thanks to this agreement, the market has a unique solution that improves the productivity and profitability of its business. We understand that this union offers guarantees to our current and future customers to improve your competitiveness in the international market, thanks to the adoption of process digitization solutions, predictive maintenance of assets, digital twins, quality improvement of final product and other large number of contributions that we can make to your business". - Yago Sanchez, Director of Alliances of Grupo Álava

The solution will seek to drive the digital transformation of the Industry through the sensorization of both critical and non-critical assets and the subsequent processing and analysis of the data by means of Edge Computing and Big Data technology.

Industrial companies will be able to have an advanced data platform to optimize their activity, anticipating possible failures or defects of any type of asset (rotary motors, reciprocating machinery, electrical transformers...), following a predictive maintenance plan.

The data generated by these assets will be collected by wireless sensors, connected through Telefónica Tech's LTE and 5G mobile networks, stored and processed in Industrial Edge Computing technology. They will be accessible through the platform. Through Artificial Intelligence and specific Machine Learning models, it will give indications to operators on how to improve asset health management of production processes, extending their useful life.

This will not only optimize maintenance costs, but also improve the efficiency, opportunity cost and performance of the facilities. It will also help to enhance safety and ensure sustainability, since many of the trips required for unscheduled maintenance can be avoided.

The solution, designed to integrate also other types of technologies, makes it possible for companies to have their production plants in a single interface. The demo is currently available at Distrito Telefónica's Innovation Center in Madrid.
